In this aerial view, we see that the mega shopping center is situated at the junction of San Juan's major north-south and east-west expressways. Expreso Las Americas is seen in the lower right. Autopista Jose De Diego runs along the top of the image.

As previously mentioned, the original J.C. Penney at PLAZA LAS AMERICAS was among the largest in the chain. In 1998, the store was replaced by one having 4 levels and 300,700 square feet. This was -and is- the largest J.C. Penney store in the world. Coincidentally, the 327,000 square foot Sears at the PLAZA is now that chain's largest store.
