The Bergen Ballpark, which was supposed to have housed the proposed Bergen Cliff Hawks minor league baseball team. This project was dropped from the final MEADOWLANDS plan in April 2009.

Another pre-mall Meadowlands structure was Giants Stadium, which is seen on the right. It was completed in October 1976 and knocked down in the summer of 2010. As in cities such as Atlanta, Seattle, Cincinnati, Indianapolis and Philadelphia, a structurally-sound sports bowl was replaced by a new -and unneeded- facility...while the original structure had not even been paid for. In the case of Giants Stadium, New Jersey taxpayers were saddled with paying off the 110 million dollar debt.
