A majority interest in SHOPPING CENTER IGUATEMI was acquired by Sao Paulo's Grupo Jereissati in late 1979. A mall development and management subsidiary was formed, which built Iguatemi-brand shopping centers throughout Brazil. Today, this enterprise is known as Iguatemi Empresa de Shopping Centers.
