Canadian real estate developer and financier Robert Campeau acquired WELLINGTON SQUARE in the mid-1980s. A major renovation and expansion was done, with a second mall built on the block north of the existing structure. The venue was renamed GALLERIA LONDON. As its first level was cut in half by a city street, mallways were only connected on the second level.

Monsieur Robert Campeau. In addition to developing GALLERIA LONDON, he wreaked havoc on United States retail during the late 1980s.
