It took over 16 years to complete GREENHILLS CENTER. In this circa-1960 physical layout, we see that a structure originally planned to be a movie theater has been built as a combination I.G.A. supermarket and bowling alley. A north store block (indicated in shades of gray) was built, in two stages, in 1953 and 1960.

In this full-color view from May 1969, we view the north and south store blocks of GREENHILLS CENTER. An Alber's supermarket sign is seen in the distance. This store had been built on a pad north of the original shopping facility.
