A cut-away view of the massive structure. Its 5 floors are connected by twenty-six elevators and fifty-six escalators. To get approval for the controversial shopping center, its developer, Syracuse's Pyramid Companies, had to make concessions. Although the mall houses somewhere around 3 million square feet, only 2.2 million may be leased. It would require passage of a voter referendum to utilize heretofore unused retail area on Level 4.
