Opened in March 1990, the 20-story Arcade Center connected with the ground floor of ARCADE SQUARE. The tower was promoted as One Dayton Center for a number of years and was renamed -as Fifth Third Center- in 2009.

The prosperity of the renovated ARCADE SQUARE was stymied by the decline of Downtown Dayton as a commercial center. The facility was shuttered in early 1991. It sat vacant and decaying while redevelopment scenarios came and went. In mid-2019, the first phase of a 125 million dollar renovation got underway.
