Zooming ahead nearly 20 years, we see the east facade of WEST EDMONTON MALL. Eaton's, the south anchor of the Phase I complex, is seen on the left. Even in its initial phase, this bi-level shopping hub was HUGE. It housed over 200 stores and services!

The Bay anchored the centre of the original mega-structure. The 2-level department store encompassed 169,000 square feet.

The WEM Sears covered 142,600 square feet. It stood on the north end of the Phase I mall.
