Sydney's FARMER'S chain acquired Australia's WESTERN STORES in October 1960 and was -then- engulfed by the MYER conglomerate in the following year. Although a reference or two to "MYER-FARMER'S" may be found in mid-1960s newspapers, the FARMER'S chain continued to trade under its own banner. By 1975, it operated seven locations in Greater Sydney. These stores were rebannered as GRACE BROTHERS in 1983.
