A circa-'65 layout of the Fashion Square Level of ROSELANDS. In October 1965, the 600,000 square foot mall, the largest in the Southern Hemisphere, was visited by citizens from far and wide. It was one of -if not- the first malls in the world to feature a centralised Food Court, the first in Australia with an in-mall motion picture venue and also the first shopping complex in the nation with a covered, multi-tiered, car park.

A cut-away view of the west side of the multi-level shopping precinct. The original centre was situated with three retail levels; i.e., Marketplace, Fashion Square and Gallery. The Grace Brothers anchor extended into a fourth floor (which was the third level of the store). This area suffered damage from a fire in July 1969.
